I do love a good necktie and have accumulated more than I can count over the years but I do have a particular soft spot for bow ties, of which I have even more. A bit different, good for the vintage aesthetic and doesn't fall into the cup when you're making your tea. What's not to like? Plus:

I must say I need to expand my bowtie collection, I have four currently and ashamedly two of those are pre-tied.

I must say I need to expand my bowtie collection, I have four currently and ashamedly two of those are pre-tied. Tieroom is my preferred supplier but lately I have found some good bargains on eBay. Although I haven't bought from them yet Grantchester & Cavendish, James Alexander and Scottsberry all look worth a try (funds permitting!). ACKO is a good vintage brand to look out for, as is Liberty (especially if you like floral patterns! ). Lately I have become less critical about pre-tied bow ties - after all, any bow tie is better than nothing! My father-in-law, also an inveterate bow tie wearer, has with advancing age been forced to switch to the self-tied variety on account of his arthritic fingers so I can accept that they do have their place.
