Umbrellas - they don't need over-engineering

There's a good reason why the umbrella has remained largely unaltered since the Ancient Egyptians invented it - a large [fabric] shade on a stick simply cannot be improved upon.   The only decisions should be around hollow or solid shaft and leather, wood or whangee handle.  This still hasn't stopped some people from trying to overthink things a tad, though.
